Audience Profile

The target audience of our short film are between the ages of 13 to 25. The socio-economic groups we want to target with our short film are E, D, C2, and C1 because people in these groups are most likely to enjoy films similar to our one because it is popular in terms of genre. Although, our film is for a mass audience we do have typical members of our primary and secondary audience that the film is targeted to.

An example of our primary audience would be Sam. Sam is 17 and a student at Kingswell High. He studies A-level English Literature, Film and Art. He appreciates all genres of film but particularly enjoys Horror, Fantasy and Comedy. He is a student so he is quite busy with school work and studying but tries to watch films regularly. He currently watches at least 1 film a week. Sam often buys or rents films on DVD but if he can, he goes to the cinema to consume a film. He also enjoys listening to music; his favourite types of music are soft rock and some rap which influences his style and appearance leading him to shop in places like Next, JD Sports and Topman. He listens to his music through iTunes which is available on his iPhone and PC. Sam like most teenagers enjoys watching TV and his favourite show is Doctor Who. This is a science-fiction TV show which is the same genre of our film, Out of the Blue. In his spare time, he hangs out with his mates and plays on his Xbox.

A member of our secondary audience would be Natasha. Natasha is 22 year old sales assistant at New Look. Her favourite film genres are romance, comedy and psychological thriller. She doesn't watch films regularly but when she does it's mostly consumed through DVD at home. Natasha loves music and especially Pop, Dance and Hip-Hop music. She buys her music in the form of CDs then listens to them on her phone and laptop. If she is watching TV, then she is most probably watching Eastenders or her favourite show Scandal - she watches this show online as well. Natasha takes advantage of her discount in New Look because she works there but also shops in Primark, ASOS and H&M. In her spare time, Natasha enjoys exploring social networking sites such as Twitter and Instagram, shopping and clubbing.
